On April 22, 2026, our team gathered with an inspiring group of women in Kapuri, Luri Payam (CES). The goal was simple but profound: to foster a deeper understanding of Gender Equality and the core concepts of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Community-led awareness is the first step toward creating a safer, more equitable environment for everyone.
The session was interactive and focused on practical understanding rather than just theory. Key topics included:
The energy in the room was one of resilience and hope. Participants engaged in open discussions, sharing their experiences and asking critical questions about how to implement these concepts in their daily lives. Seeing the "Mission and Vision" banner prominently displayed reminds us all of the long-term commitment we have toward these women.
Why This Matters
When women in communities like Kapuri are equipped with knowledge, they become the primary defenders of their own rights. This training isn't just a one-day event; it’s a seed planted for a more just future in Central Equatoria State.
Action For Equality Foundation (AFEF) was born by a group of professional south Sudanese in various field of competency who diligently have come together realizing the cry and suffering of the people of South Sudan and endeavor to purposely give in to serve the communities saving lives through advocating on behalf of the vulnerable, deprived, the victims of SGBV and persons living with HIV/AID unveiling the trauma and stigma.
