Empowering Kapuri: Training on Gender Equality and GBV Prevention

On April 22, 2026, our team gathered with an inspiring group of women in Kapuri, Luri Payam (CES). The goal was simple but profound: to foster a deeper understanding of Gender Equality and the core concepts of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Community-led awareness is the first step toward creating a safer, more equitable environment for everyone.
Key Highlights of the Training
The session was interactive and focused on practical understanding rather than just theory. Key topics included:
- Defining Gender Equality: Moving beyond myths to understand how equal rights and opportunities benefit the entire family and community.
- Identifying GBV: Breaking down the different forms of violence, including physical, emotional, and economic violence, and why silence is no longer an option.
- Resource Mapping: Identifying where women in Luri Payam can seek help and support if they or someone they know is at risk.

Inside the Session

The energy in the room was one of resilience and hope. Participants engaged in open discussions, sharing their experiences and asking critical questions about how to implement these concepts in their daily lives. Seeing the Mission and Vision banner prominently displayed reminds us all of the long-term commitment we have toward these women.
Why This Matters
When women in communities like Kapuri are equipped with knowledge, they become the primary defenders of their own rights. This training is not just a one-day event; it is a seed planted for a more just future in Central Equatoria State.
